Enjoy this recipe with your family as you celebrate the meaning and memories of your own holiday traditions.
- 1 cup soft butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
Combine above ingredients, then add:
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
This will make a stiff dough. Refrigerate.
When chilled, roll to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out with standard Christmas cookie cutters.
Bake in 400-degree oven for 5-6 minutes, until the edges are barely brown.
Sprinkle cookies with colored sugar or allow to cool and frost them.
