Matt Hammitt is the lead singer and one of the founding members of Grammy-Nominated, Dove Award winning band Sanctus Real. The band is best known for their number one singles "Beautiful Day" (a U2 cover), "Everything About You", "The Fight Song", "I'm Not Alright", "Don't Give Up", "We Need Each Other", "Forgiven" and "Lead Me".
Hammitt is married to Sarah, with whom he has three children; two older daughters, Emmy and Claire, and a son named Bowen Matthew Hammitt. Bowen was born on September 9, 2010 and had a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Hammitt wrote the song "All of Me" about his son. With eight No. 1 hits on the Christian music charts and 15 years on the public stage, Matt has a unique platform to champion awareness for congenital heart defects.
