“Pastor” … When you hear that title, do you feel energized or burdened by it? I’m guessing a little of both. You likely carry a deep sense of excitement and godly satisfaction watching over your flock as an under-shepherd to the Great Shepherd. What a privilege and what a responsibility! For many, though, the responsibility becomes a heavy weight as you continue to think about the many needs of your flock. Over time the weight can even lead to resentment.
“Pastor’s wife” … An interesting title as well. Are you excited and blessed to see your husband in his role? Do you feel grateful for the many blessings your family receives from the flock you serve so sacrificially? Or sadly, do you feel depressed, maybe even a little bitter, as your family suffers and your husband is used up by the very people you’re called to love?
There are so many challenges you face as a pastor and wife, and FamilyLife wants you to be encouraged that someone is aware and cares deeply about you and how those challenges affect you, your marriage, and your family. We invite you to come to our Pastors and Wives section of our website for help, encouragement, and blessing. We are here to serve you, the servants of the King of kings.
