Dennis Rainey: How does your spouse show love to you?

Guest: My wife will sacrifice her time for me. She will allow me to have time to do the things that I want to do, and will stay at home with the kids or whatever it takes for that to happen. That makes me feel very important.

Dennis Rainey: Once at a banquet in London, Winston Churchill was asked "If you could not be who you are, who would you like to be?" He rose slowly from his seat and said dramatically: "If I could not be who I am, I would most like to be" -- then he paused to take his wife's hand -- "I would most like to be Lady Churchill's second husband!"

The Prime Minister was fully devoted to his wife. I may not have his charm, but frequently, I let Barbara know how much I care, by telling her "I'd marry you all over again." I've learned that this kind of affirmation freshens our marriage vows and communicates the depth of my affection for her.

One final thought. Why not let your spouse know how much you're committed to her. Tell your mate you'd marry her all over again. By fulfilling your vows in this way, you'll not only be pleasing God with your actions, but you'll be giving your wife a great gift.

I'm Dennis Rainey, and that's Real Family Life.
