Dennis Rainey: He's a wise young man to get connected quickly. If we don't seek out the accountability of others in a local church, we'll find ourselves isolated and vulnerable to temptation.

The Bible says that the devil prowls like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. I've heard that African lions prey on weak, unsuspecting animals. They go after those straggling behind the herd, away from the protection of others.

In the same way, if we refuse to be accountable to one another, we can be easy prey for the enemy of our souls. We can become so distracted by prosperity and busy schedules that we don't even notice when a lion has us in its sights. We need the perspective that accountability provides.

One final thought. Are you connected with others in a local church? They may help you recognize areas in which you're easy prey for the enemy.

I'm Dennis Rainey, and that's Real FamilyLife.
