Guest: My husband and I were watching the movie Zorro. He was sitting in the theater with his arms crossed and just being really bored. And then on the screen came the leading actress. And he sat straight up in his chair and he goes, "Now this is a movie!"[ Read Full Transcript ]
Dennis Rainey: You know, it's no accident that the leading actress caught his attention. She had an entourage of people making her hair and makeup look just right. The film crew gave her perfect lighting and the director shot her from an attractive angle.
It's easy for men to get confused, and to think the images the media portrays represent reality. It's dangerous for a man to compare his wife with one of those deceptive images. He can look up from the television at his exhausted wife, and think, "Where's my super model?" But that kind of comparison is unfair.
One final thought. It's always easy to think the grass is greener on the other person's lawn, until you look closely and see all the dandelions and crabgrass. Why don't you focus your attention on your wife and her God-given beauty?
I'm Dennis Rainey, and that's Real FamilyLife.
