Dennis Rainey:Those may be the activities you most associate with October 31st, commonly celebrated as Halloween, but it's significant in another way as well. On this day in 1517, a German monk named Martin Luther nailed a document he had written to the door of a church. With that single act, the protestant reformation began, and western culture was forever altered.
Today, I believe it's time for another kind of reformation in our culture -- a family reformation. You can see the need for it every time you hear statistics on divorce, child neglect or abuse, teen pregnancy, and sexually transmitted disease. What can we do? It's easy to blame others for society's problems, but reformation must begin with individuals. With you.
One final thought. Be a part of a family reformation. Renew your commitment to your mate. Be involved in the lives of your children. Our culture can change, one home at a time.
