Dennis Rainey: Sounds like we touched an open wound.
There's no question that divorce rips families apart, leaving behind a lot of pain, like that man expressed. I think it's one of the reasons God says in Malachi 2:16, "I hate divorce."
You'd probably have no trouble at all listing family and friends you know of who're divorced. This can make it difficult to take a stand and confront divorce, but it doesn't have to. It IS possible to fight this downward cultural trend with compassion. How? By upholding, promoting, and living out the sanctity of your marriage covenant. One final thought. Decide now that, by God?s grace, divorce will never be an option in your marriage. Then ask God to enable you to fulfill your vows today..."'til death do you part."
