Dennis Rainey: Why do you think divorce has become so common in America?

Guest: I believe that divorce has become just an easy answer to hard circumstances, irregardless what God's Word says to us about divorce.

Dennis Rainey: Multi-billionaire, Ted Turner, was quoted as saying "After having done CNN and the Superstation, winning the '95 World Series with the Atlanta Braves, I feel I can do just about anything. Except have a successful marriage." One of the reasons Ted Turner, and so many other people don't have a successful marriage, is that they believe divorce is an acceptable solution to their problems.

Divorce has become a disease of the American soul. Christians need to impact the culture today, by reinforcing the truth about divorce. God didn't stutter when He said in Malachi 2:16 "I hate divorce." Divorce breaks the sacred promise between two people and God Himself.

One final thought. We're observing the most "divorced" generation of young people, in the history of our nation. The truth needs to be told. Divorce is bad for a person, for a child, for a family, for a church, and for a nation.

I'm Dennis Rainey, and that's Real Family Life.
