Guest: How do I protect my husband from sexual temptation? He's not as young as he used to be, and it doesn't take nearly as much to protect him as it once did.[ Read Full Transcript ]
Dennis Rainey: I think she dodged the question!
Sexual temptation is very common for most husbands, but has it ever occurred to you to take it upon yourself to protect your husband by making sure his sexual needs are met by you and you alone?
In our book “Rekindling the Romance,” Barbara shares something a good friend once told her. She said, “Think about all of the things you do for your husband. Laundry? He could take his clothes to the cleaners. Cooking? If you didn’t, he’d probably eat out a lot more. He could turn to his buddies for friendship or to a counselor to talk about his problems. But if he’s not getting his sexual needs met at home by you and he goes somewhere else, God calls that sin.”
One final thought. This isn’t a guilt trip. If your husband sins, he bears the responsibility before God. But why not try to eliminate as many potential sources of temptation in his life as you possibly can?
I’m Dennis Rainey, and that’s Real Family Life.
