Dennis Rainey: Has there ever been a time when you wondered if the romantic fires would ever burn again in your marriage?
Guest: At one point in my marriage, even after many years of marriage, I really thought probably there was nowhere to go but out. And I found myself on my knees before the Lord.
Dennis Rainey: Many can identify with that kind of pain. And at moments like that, romance seems to be far, far away.
As we wrote “Rekindling the Romance,” our prayer was that the book would be used to provide encouragement, hope, creativity, and renewed vision for romance in millions of marriages. Without romance, marriage fizzles into a joyless endurance contest, and the result is loneliness and a loss of intimacy.
What about your marriage? Have you stopped pursuing your spouse romantically? Don’t ignore your romance. Your relationship with your spouse and with God will never be all that it could be without romance.
One final thought. One of Barbara’s favorite Bible verses is Luke 1:37, “Nothing is impossible with God.” Do you believe that?
