Dennis Rainey: On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate the romance in your marriage?
Guest: I've been married about a month. As soon as we got back from our honeymoon, he sent me flowers up to work, so I knew he was still thinking about me. I hope that in five years the level of romance is still as high as it is right now.[ Read Full Transcript ]
Dennis Rainey: I hope so, too. Dr. James Altheus says, "Without the emotional connection we call romance, a marriage lacks the zest and excitement that leads to satisfaction." He goes on to add, "Most couples, if all is well, experience this connection in a host of un-sung and uneventful ways, as well as in the moments of intense passion. A marriage without such a connection is a divorce waiting to happen."
You know, tonight my family is going to enjoy our fire pit. We love to sit around it, sing songs, roast hot dogs and S'Mores, and tell stories. But in order to enjoy that bonfire, someone has to continually add fuel. The fire of romance is the same way.
