Dennis Rainey: If you're a grandparent, more than likely you can identify with the great pride that I feel about my grandchildren.

Guest: (Did we go to the zoo?) I saw...elephants! Big elephants! Parrots fly up...ha, ha, ha!

Dennis Rainey: That's my grandson Samuel, and his brother James. At the time of this recording, I had five grandchildren. But I can tell you this: with three of our six children married, the grandkids are starting to come in rapid-fire succession. Last year we had three. Kind of like popcorn. So maybe by the time this hits your ears, there'll be even more of them. [ Read Full Transcript ]



But you know what? I love it! I love spoiling them. It won't be too long before I'll be able to take them hunting and fishing. Being called "Poppa" is kind of like all of the fun of having children, with none of the hassles.

One final thought. If you're a grandparent, resist the temptation to be so busy that you don't have time for your grandchildren. And if you're a parent, make sure you ask your parents and your in-laws to get involved with your children. And ask them to help out as much as possible. You won't regret it, and neither will they!
