Share FamilyLife resources with othersThroughout FamilyLife’s years of ministry, we often hear people say, “Your resources have really helped me, but now I need help for my friends and family.” Like you, our hearts ache for everyone to know the Biblical principles that God has laid out for marriages and families. That’s why our vision is “every home a Godly home.” But in order for us to spread this message of hope, we need your help. There are many ways to get involved with FamilyLife’s mission, and you can choose your level of involvement, from working as a full-time volunteer to sharing materials with friends and family members. Here are a few of the ways we recommend. Pray for FamilyLifeWe believe prayer is one of the cornerstones of our ministry. We can’t accomplish our work without continually seeking the heart of God. Pray for our staff and for those who hear the message of God’s word through FamilyLife that their hearts would be open to receive His wisdom. Visit our section on prayer to find out specific ways you can pray for the ministry. Share Books and ResourcesOne of the best ways you can share FamilyLife’s message with friends and family members is to share resources. There are hundreds of books and materials that you can distribute, including Weekend to Remember® gift certificates, but we’ve also specifically designed several products to help you connect with others. Products such as, Passport2Purity™, Interviewing Your Daughter’s Date, Resurrection Eggs®, and What God Wants for Christmas™, were created to guide you as you share God’s principles with others. Many of our products can be used in Sunday school classes, Bible studies, or small groups, while others were created to be used one-on-one. No matter how you choose to use FamilyLife resources, we guarantee to provide Biblical content and a lot of guidance. Lead a HomeBuilders Small GroupWe created the HomeBuilders Couples Series® and HomeBuilders Parenting Series® to help you reach people in your church and community. Both series were designed for a small group setting, where couples can gain strength from supporting each other and grow spiritually and developmentally through biblical counsel and practical projects. HomeBuilders studies work well with existing small group ministries, or they can be used as a part of your Sunday school curriculum. Each study comes with leader’s notes that make it easy for anyone to facilitate. Become a Marriage MentorThere are young couples in every church who need wise counsel to help them start their marriages on a strong foundation. Consider becoming a marriage mentor by leading engaged couples through Preparing for Marriage. The leaders guide, study guide, and workbook are designed to offer as little or as much direction needed to train those that will be in the most intimate, long lasting human relationships we experience on earth. The leaders guide gives mentors goals, format, and length of each course as you minister to pre-married couples. It also provides directions for conducting and evaluating an opening interview as well as step-by-step instructions to leading a couple through each of the sessions. Become a VolunteerBy adopting the vision of a FamilyLife volunteer, you are a vital part of the movement to strengthen and encourage couples in marriage. The only thing you need to serve as an effective volunteer is the desire to improve families—one home at a time. FamilyLife volunteers are men and women who are living out their conviction that we must be active in bringing God's perfect plan for marriage to our communities. Volunteer opportunities range from serving onsite in the resource center to joining our local volunteer promotion team. See our volunteer opportunities page for more information on how to join our team.
