Today, noted author and Pastor Dr. Robert Lewis will begin giving full time leadership to FamilyLife’s Church Initiative.
Dr. Lewis will leverage his pastoral experience and passion for marriages and families along with FamilyLife’s biblical resources and infrastructure to design a strategic ministry that will serve the church and its families. Over the next ten years it is the goal of this partnership to serve 40,000 churches and help them develop sustainable marriage and family ministries. With more than 30 years of experience in the pastorate, Lewis joins FamilyLife as the president of the Church Initiative. Lewis will continue as pastor-at-large for Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, a congregation of more than 6,500. Lewis will lead the Church Initiative’s efforts to equip churches with high-quality print and video curriculum for couples, parents and teens. "As a leader of one of the most successful churches in the nation, Robert has an ideal perspective on the kind of practical, biblical content that churches need to equip their congregations," said FamilyLife President Dr. Dennis Rainey. "Robert has experienced first-hand the challenges facing the local church leaders in equipping marriages and families and knows the best practices and strategies to respond to those needs. We are thrilled that he’ll bring that kind of vision, passion and practical experience to FamilyLife’s Church Initiative." In addition to his background as a pastor, Lewis is the well known author of several books, including Raising A Modern Day Knight, Rocking the Roles and The Church of Irresistible Influence. Lewis is the founder of Men’s Fraternity, which serves men’s ministries in more than 6,000 churches in America, and is the general editor for the Men’s Fraternity Bible.
