Mission and vision

“Family” has been described as the international language that crosses all borders. Men and women around the globe want to know how to strengthen their marriages and raise children of character. It is easy to understand why William R. Bright, cofounder of Campus Crusade for Christ said:

“If we reach the family, we reach the world.” - Bill Bright

Our Mission Statement

“To effectively develop godly families who change the world one home at a time. "

Our Vision Statement

Every Home a Godly Home

FamilyLife Global wants to help you:

  • Develop family ministry in your country
  • Teach and model God’s blueprints for families
  • Integrate culturally relevant resources into your existing ministries of evangelism and discipleship

Why is FamilyLife’s global ministry of building godly families so important and strategic?

Some think, “We have enough problems in our own country, why should we go outside to others?”

Reason 1: Jesus has commanded us to go into the whole world and make disciples and teach them to observe all that He commanded.
The disciples could have said, “Our country is occupied by a foreign power, and the moral and religious life of our nation is in a shambles.” Aren’t we glad they obeyed the Lord? Many today forget that “teaching all that I have commanded them” includes how to live successfully in a marriage and family.

Reason 2: The needs of the family worldwide are great.
Rwanda—After 28 years of marriage and ministry, a bishop of an Anglican Church attended one of our marriage conferences.  It so impacted him that for the first time, he began reserving a day off to be with his wife!  He then took a survey with the pastors of his diocese.  Most of the wives said “my husband has a mistress—the church.”  He has invited our ministry to train and equip all of his leaders.  Imagine the far reaching influence of these leaders for godly marriages!
Middle East—A ministry leader said that FamilyLife is so important in this area of world.  The non-believers there want to see how relationships are lived out in a “Christian” home before they will accept the message of the missionaries.  The greatest tool for evangelism is having non-Christians come into the homes of missionaries. Relationships are key to winning the world for Christ!
Paraguay—A businessman was so excited about what he learned at a marriage conference that he started HomeBuilders Couples Series among his factory employees.  The work performance of his employees improved so much that other businessmen asked him to help them start groups in their businesses.

Reason 3: The multiplication factor for reaching the world for Christ is astonishing.
When you reach one couple, what is the impact?  Every child in that home is impacted when a mom and dad are helped through a conference or small group.  How many in the extended family or neighborhood are touched too?
Benin, West Africa—After a FamilyLife training of leaders, 11 HomeBuilders groups were started.  Image that 12 people attended each of these groups.  If they each have 2 children then 244 are impacted by training a few.  If those group members start their own groups, the multiplication is amazing.
