Scott and June

Scott and June HendrenScott and June went to their first Weekend to Remember conference in 1997 where they attended the staff opportunities meeting. They were impressed with how God had brought people of different backgrounds to FamilyLife from all over the country. Scott recalls, "We saw ... that God could use farmers, engineers, builders, accountants, and even bankers as part of a ministry team." Being a banker and CPA himself, Scott realized that he could use his skills and gifts at FamilyLife, yet he was concerned about the support-raising process.

Scott describes the idea of raising support as:

"... a little intimidating, to say the least. But we had to come to the realization that God had always been the one to provide for our material needs.... God pretty much said, 'You do A. Then we'll talk about B.' We discovered through the process, though, that it wasn't about making the right decision. It was about following and obeying Him. The rightness of the decision was His responsibility."

Today, Scott serves in the Field Ministries Operations department of FamilyLife where he gives leadership to the team responsible for the on-site administration of all of our U.S. conferences and events as well as the resource centers at those events. Scott and June enjoy ministering together as a couple and travel regularly to work on-site at events.

Scott and June are glad that they are part of the FamilyLife team. Scott says: "We believe there is nowhere else where we could make such a difference in an area where there is such a great need right now -- the family. ... We clearly saw God at work at FamilyLife, and we joined Him here. He's still at work here today."
