Tom and Laura
After attending a FamilyLife Weekend to Remember Conference... God began tugging on the Tom and Laura’s' hearts to help the family and join the staff team of FamilyLife. However, Laura was concerned about leaving their hometown, church, and extended families. She also was leery about moving to Little Rock, Arkansas. Tom says, "God spoke to her heart during Bible study -- to not stand on the edge of the Promised Land afraid to go in, but to trust only in Him. He would pave the way, and He has been so faithful." Today, Tom is a Field Ministries Representative in the Field Ministries Department. He works with volunteers in several cities in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska to promote the Weekend to Remember Conferences. Laura is a busy wife and mother at home who also serves as manager on the New Staff Wives Team. This team helps the new missionary staff women adjust to life on staff as they arrive in Little Rock to begin full time work with FamilyLife. Tom and Laura truly enjoy working with other Christians who have a desire to serve God. They are excited about how God changes lives through obedience to Christ. Tom says: "God has used our time in joining staff and the support-raising process to conform us more to His image. (We still have a long way to go!) Looking back, we can indeed see his faithfulness and the blessing of trusting Him and stepping out in faith. We are so thankful for the work He has done in our lives and for the growth we have seen so far." |

As educators, Tom and Laura were surrounded by students who could not concentrate on schoolwork because of devastating situations at home. They also had several college friends who divorced shortly after their marriages. Tom said, "God began planting seeds in our hearts about the condition of the family before we even heard about FamilyLife."
