A HomeBuilders Movement

After a couple has led several groups, they may wish to host an “exposure event” to generate more interest. An “exposure event” combines a large group of couples and introduces them to some basic information about marriage and family. The couples that attend the event are given an opportunity to join a HomeBuilders group.

Here are a few ideas for an exposure event:

  • Romantic dinner (Valentine’s Day or another time of year)
  • A special evening with young couples
  • Marriage Seminar: 3-hour, half-day, or even one-day.

The alumni of your groups are indispensable in helping plan and prepare for the event. You could ask for their help with the important task of inviting and bringing other couples to the event. With careful planning and intentional encouragement, multiple groups may form after the event. When this happens, a ministry starts turning into a movement. As a movement grows, it can become so large that just one couple is not able to centrally control it or direct it. Many couples are starting groups, hosting “exposure events”, and then starting more groups in multiple cities.

The movement belongs to God.
