Indicatives and imperatives in the Bible

(4:37)

Dr. Voddie Baucham, Jr. explains the difference to FamilyLife staff.   We need to understand who we are in Christ before we can be equipped to do what we are called to do in Christ.

is there a way to purchase or hear the entire message? If so, please advise. Thanks!

I just love this! We so need to remember this we are nothing without Christ. I know I can get wrapped up in putting me alone in solving my issues. I'll pray and then I"ll just snatch it back from God and wonder why it's so hard. This so spoke to me. God Bless you and this message :)

Dr. Voddie,
What your teaching here is so huge, we get so legal listic about everthing in the church, and we forget who we are and why we are here. I was so bound by the do's and dont's that I had come to belive that my salvation was in danger at every moment. I had become just as inslaved to that line of thinking and behavior, it was as if I was never saved. I wasn't free in Christ, I was in bondage in Christ for the simple fact that the do's and dont's where stressed to be more important than the free gift of salvation, that by no amount of self rightiousness (works) could I ever earn the price paid for me. What I have since learned is that what was freely given to me because of His work on the cross and not buy anything I ever could do or will do, can't be taken away because of what "I" do. I know that there are imperitves that I must do as a beliver, confess, baptizem those thing as Christ laid out as essental to us as belivers. But not by my works lest I should boast..

Love y
