Session 2: Each Child is Unique

Session 2: Each Child is Unique

Welcome to Session 2 of this five-part training series on the art of parenting on discipline. Play the video below to continue.

Children are individuals and should be treated as such, yet they all have the universal need of character development. Parents need to know what boundaries to set, and when and how to discipline misbehavior and reward good behavior. Remember, today’s efforts in disciplining and training your children are investments in their life-long character.

Major Points:

  • Discipline is a form of discipleship.
  • Boundaries, consequences, and discipline form character and build security.
  • Discipline and punishment are not the same.
  • Intentional discipline is effective discipline.
  • Decide in advance what you will and will not discipline for.
  • No cookie-cutter children, no cookie-cutter discipline.
  • What is punishment to one child will be pleasure to another.

Memory Verses:

“Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will give delight to your heart.” — Proverbs 29:17
