Session 6.3

Session 6: Nurturing Identity

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them!

How do I point squirrely kids to Jesus?

Take Aim Questions

Take some time to journal and process the questions below, they’ll help you apply parenting principles that will set you up for success.

What attempts have you made to read the Bible together and have family devotionals? How has it gone?

If your family does not do devotions together regularly, which of the reasons below most describes why?

Do you feel confident in teaching your kids how to read and understand the Bible?

If your child left home today, what is your confidence they would follow Jesus?

The Need To Know

Take the lead.

  •   Leading kids in family devotions can be as simple as reading Scripture aloud, asking questions, or having a few thoughts to share.
  •   How we point our kids to Christ may need to alter as they get older, or with the temperaments of our kids.
  •   Launching your kids in the right spiritual direction first involves a well-grounded, thriving relationship of your own with God.
