Session 7.3

Session 7: Preparing for Mission

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them!

When they walk away.

How do we deal when kids’ choices rip at our hearts?

Take Aim Questions

Take some time to journal and process the questions below, they’ll help you apply parenting principles that will set you up for success.

Do you have a child who is particularly rebellious against authority? How have you handled their rebellion?

Have you asked God for wisdom on how your own example is either helping or hurting the situation?

Do you know your top 3-5 values as a family?

How can you communicate your family values to your children?

What have you seen in your child’s behavior that could provide a hint to their future mission in God’s kingdom?

How are you preparing your child to be on mission?

The Need To Know

All yours.

  •   When kids turn away from God, we release them back to Him in belief and prayer.
  •   Allow God to explore your heart for ways you might have contributed to their rebellion.
  •   Trust God’s long game for your kids. Ultimately, our kids belong to Him.
  •   Encourage your kids to constantly live as ambassadors on mission in whatever occupation and circumstances God has for them. Every calling can be sacred.
