Costs vary from mission to mission, but we typically try to keep the missions to $600-$1500 per person, plus airfare or transportation.
The trip cost includes all in-country transportation (international trips), shared hotel or dormitory accommodations, three meals a day (except London), emergency evacuation assistance, a cultural learning experience, and training materials.
The trip cost does not include airfare, pre-trip visa fees (if required), passport costs, immunizations, baggage charges, trip cancellation insurance, airport meals, or snacks, although you can raise funds for these, if desired.
Raising funds is NOT required, but recommended. Inviting others to share in the mission through giving is a blessing to everyone involved. We will send resources to help you know how to raise funds, as well as provide a personal giving page for each family to send out to friends and family who might want to make a donation.
Trip supporters can pay by credit card through the participant’s giving page. Donations can also be made by check made out to “FamilyLife.” (All donations are tax-deductible and non-refundable.)
The schedule varies from place to place, depending on the location and partnering ministry. We do take into account that we will have families with children and so take care to include a healthy mix of ministry training, ministry activity, educational and recreational time. Our trips are impactful AND fun!
Each mission will have suggested age ranges, but typically our missions will accommodate children as young as eight through their teen and college years. Generally, we accept family members and individuals in any stage of life, from married couples to parent/child combinations to multi-generational families.
You will join other couples and families partnering with the local church for a time of serving, learning, and sharing with others about the hope that is found in Christ Jesus.
You will receive training to enter new cultures with humility and be equipped with ministry skills. You will see first-hand how God is at work and share the gospel. And you will do this together, alongside those closest to you, so that when you return home you will be prepared to continue down the path of learning and sharing as a family.
You can email the FL Missions Team at missions@familylife.com.
Accommodations will vary depending on location and the recommendation of our national hosts. You could be staying in a local hotel, guesthouse, or airbnb. Children and parents will stay together. We might have multiple families stay in the same house, with individual sleeping quarters and shared space like the kitchen and living room. If you require special accommodations, please contact us.
It depends on the location and partnering ministry, but our top priority is to provide the types of opportunities where each family member can participate in evangelism and outreach. Whether it’s distributing water filters, holding spiritually provocative signs, or hosting a community gathering in an underprivileged neighborhood, we will be engaging people in gospel conversations.
We lean towards 3-10 families. Depending on the mission and the location, we might accept more or fewer.
This will depend on the length and location of each mission. In general, you will need to pack clothes appropriate for the culture and weather, toiletries, and Bible/devotional materials. Prior to the mission, each family will receive specific information for your location and mission, including a detailed packing list.
We cannot guarantee any dietary accommodations on our mission trips. If you have interest in a particular trip, please enquire for more information.

Testimonials
“We are already thinking through who we would love to come with us next time. It was fantastic that the kids got to ‘do’ some of the parts of the evangelism.”
“I had the privilege of leading several people to Christ after sharing my personal story and presenting the gospel. I saw my children’s perspective on material possessions change. I saw them grow in confidence and develop more of a heart to reach people with the good news.”
“Really, it is not unlike (ministering to) Americans and it made this week very transferrable to coming back home and engaging in these conversations.”
“I have shared my faith a lot through the years. To do this with my son was amazing. He watched me share the gospel. I watched him share his story. It was really fun to see. Plus, it was great to see kids of all ages and stages contributing.”
