If you’re picturing a stuffy conference or an awkward group therapy session, you can relax. Weekend to Remember is neither. Here’s how the weekend flows—and what it feels like in the room.

Your Weekend Schedule Summarized

Check-in begins at 5:00 PM and typically takes just a few minutes—simply share your name, grab your guidebook, and find a seat.

That said, some events host over 1,000 attendees. If you arrive right at the start, you may experience a short wait and risk missing the beginning of the first session (no worries—you won’t be called out, but you may need to find a seat quietly).

We recommend arriving in the ballroom by 6:45 PM to get settled and start the evening stress‑free.

Friday Evening (7:00–9:10 PM)

  • Welcome & introduction
  • First teaching session
  • Get oriented to the weekend

Saturday (9:00 AM–4:15 PM)

  • Morning sessions
  • 2 hour lunch break (12:00 PM–2:00 PM) – feel free to leave venue, eat, and decompress
  • Afternoon sessions
  • We dismiss at 4:15, but your evening is just getting started! We provide each couple with a date night activity card and specific instructions to use this “free time” as “we time”!

  • Practical application & wrap‑up
  • Talk about your morning session options here.

Total: 12+ hours of teaching/talking/laughing across 2.5 days

What a “Teaching Session” Is (and Isn’t)

Think conversational, Bible‑based teaching with practical tools—not counseling, group therapy or academic lecture.

  • NOT: public sharing or awkward group discussion
  • YES: private conversations with your spouse (“couple time”)
  • YES: practical exercises in your guidebook (some via the FamilyLife app)

“Couple Time” Explained

Throughout the weekend, speakers will pause and give you “couple time” – usually 10-15 minutes to talk with your spouse, fill in questions in the guidebook and/or process together what you heard or watched. No one is listening, grading or judging you.

Some couples love these breaks. Others find them awkward at first. Both reactions are completely normal and expected. It’s all a part of the process.

Topics You’ll Cover

The exact sessions vary, but generally include:

  • Communication: How to actually talk AND listen
  • Conflict: Fighting fair, resolving recurring issues
  • Expectations: Unspoken assumptions that cause problems
  • Intimacy: Physical, emotional, spiritual connection
  • Forgiveness: Letting go and moving forward
  • Oneness: God’s design and purpose for marriage

Everything is rooted in Scripture but applied to real, messy, everyday marriage.

What Makes This Different

It’s comprehensive. Most marriage events are 2-3 hours. This is 12+ hours over a full weekend. You go deep.

It’s biblical but practical. Real application of Scripture to real marriage challenges – not preachy, not fluffy.

It’s for ALL marriages:

  • Struggling? You’ll find hope and practical help.
  • Doing okay? You’ll grow and strengthen weak areas.
  • Thriving? You’ll gain tools to help others.

It’s been refined since 1976. Over 3 million couples have attended. The content works because it’s been tested and improved for nearly 50 years.
