Ron: You know it’s not true for everybody but some stepfamilies tell me they feel like Moses and the Israelites leaving Egypt for the Promised Land. They left something horrible, believing they have been given a second chance, but they quickly discover the trip is filled with uncertainty and they’re lost much of the time and it’s taking longer to get there than they thought.
Besides, they’re carrying so much baggage and when children slow their progress, they start wondering if they should have stayed in Egypt. And so begins the grumbling and complaining. But I say, like the Israelites, God is leading and providing for your journey. In your weariness, trust Him, and he’ll see you through to the Promised Land. For FamilyLife Blended, I’m Ron Deal.
