Episode Transcript
Ron: When helping a drowning person be careful not to get pulled under, too.
Announcer: For FamilyLife Blended®, here’s Ron Deal.
Ron: Brenda wrote to me saying that her husband’s ex-wife was still taking care of their 39-year-old alcoholic daughter. Plus, the ex-wife repeatedly asks for money and expects Brenda’s husband, to help care for the daughter. Brenda asked, “When does co-parenting end?”
Well, mentoring never ends, but financing an adult’s irresponsibility should have ended a long time ago. If your husband isn’t careful, he’ll get pulled under with his drowning daughter and ex-wife and take you with him. Look, a skilled swimmer—those are the ones who really can help a drowning person. Just because they are under-functioning in life doesn’t mean you should join them. For FamilyLife Blended, I’m Ron Deal.
