Mark Householder

Mark Householder has served with Athletes in Action, the athletic ministry of Cru, since 1982. He became the fourth president of Athletes in Action in 2009 and completed sixteen years in that role in July 2025.

Throughout more than four decades of ministry leadership, Mark has served college, professional, and Olympic athletes and coaches. His work has included leading U.S. campus and professional staff, guiding global ministry strategy, and providing pastoral care and leadership development for staff and leaders. His ministry experience spans more than 40 countries.

Mark currently serves as Senior Advisor to Athletes in Action, supporting senior leaders across Athletes in Action and Cru with counsel, continuity, and long-range perspective.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, where he also played collegiate football.

Mark and his wife, Marianne, have been married since 1985. They have three adult children and four grandchildren. They reside in Lebanon, Ohio.
