Dave and Ann Wilson
Dave and Ann are the hosts of FamilyLife Today®. They have been Weekend to Remember® speakers since 1989 and are co-founders of Kensington Community Church, which hosts more than 14,000 visitors every weekend. Dave holds a Master of Divinity degree from the International School of Theology and served the Detroit Lions as chaplain for 33 years. The Wilsons have authored two books, Vertical Marriage and No Perfect Parents. They have been married more than 38 years and have three grown sons, three daughters-in-law, and several grandchildren.
Laura Story
Laura Story is a wife, mother, songwriter, worship leader, author, artist, and Bible teacher. She glorifies the Lord through her worship and creativity. Her songs—which have won Grammys, Billboard Music Awards, and Dove Awards—include “Blessings,” and Chris Tomlin’s version of her song, “Indescribable.” In addition, she is also the author of four books and shares encouraging stories on her podcast. Laura’s greatest joy is being a wife to Martin and mother to Josie, Ben, Griffin, and Timothy.

OPTIONAL UPGRADE OPPORTUNITY—All of our guests will be treated to very nice resort and garden facing balcony villas within a short walk to the beach. However, we are able to offer a limited number of upgrades to a guaranteed oceanfront villa (at guest expense) on a first-come, first-served basis. (Guest cost for the upgrade, if desired, is $300/night.)

Optional Early Arrival Experiences
EARLY ARRIVAL EXCURSION OPTIONS: This is a limited availability opportunity for up to 20 golfers and up to 50 boaters.
- WHALE WATCHING BOAT TRACK for 2 – $800 (includes extra one night lodging, 2 seats on the 63-foot catamaran Ocean Adventures and includes lunch.)
- GOLF TRACK for 2 – $1000 (includes one extra night lodging, 18 holes of golf for two at the Championship Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Golf Links.)
- SPLIT TRACK- $900 (a combination of the first two options– combining one boater and one golfer.)
- SPA TRACK for 2 – $1000 (includes one extra night lodging, $250/each spa credit with whole day access to the spa facilities.)
- SPLIT TRACK (golf/spa) – $1000 (includes one extra night lodging, golf for 1, one $250 spa credit.)
President's Getaway Monarch Beach 2024 – FAQ
- GETAWAY COST: As our special guests, your getaway will include complimentary hotel lodging, session admittance, your morning and evening meals, and exclusive events—such as our off-site dinner cruise. Each of these will be at zero cost to you.
- GUESTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR: their own transportation to and from Monarch Beach (including on-site parking fees), their midday meals, and any activities they choose during their “afternoon free time” each day.
- CAN I EXTEND MY STAY?: Guests may extend their stay up to three days prior or three days after the event for a charge of $500/night (incl. taxes, resort fees) for each additional night beyond the scheduled getaway. Hotel costs during the actual event are already covered by FamilyLife.
- EARLY ARRIVAL EXPERIENCE: Event attendance is at no cost to you beyond your transportation to Monarch Beach. The details and costs for the optional add-on experiences are listed above.
- AIRPORT: Guests can fly into John Wayne International Airport (SNA) which is approximately 24 miles (29 minutes) to the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club. Most commercial airlines offer many flight options into this location.
- GROUND TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS: Taxi, Uber, Lyft, WingZ, or rental cars are all great options from SNA.
- PARKING FEES: Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach charges $50/car/day for in/out valet parking. (Any parking charges will be guest responsibility.)
- Business casual.
- Saturday evening includes an indoor banquet dinner. This is our dressiest point of the weekend. Plan to dress as you would for a nice dinner-date at an upscale restaurant.
- Bringing layers is suggested to accommodate unpredictable weather conditions and varying preferences of indoor temperature settings.
This is an adults-only event. No childcare will be provided. Please enjoy your weekend as a couple.
