Episode Transcript
Ron: Accommodating someone’s preferences out of love for the Lord is an act of faith.
Announcer: For FamilyLife Blended®, here’s Ron Deal.
Ron: We all have our quirks and our preferences. Learning to live with the quirky preferences of others—even people we love—is not always easy. In Romans 14 Paul encourages us to defer to others. If they’re not comfortable doing something you feel is okay, let your preference go for the sake of peace. This would make a world of difference in friendships and families because it reduces stress in the relationship and control issues.
In blended families it helps people merge traditions and different ways of doing things. A loving sacrifice of preference. We could all use a little more of that. For FamilyLife Blended I’m Ron Deal.
