I regularly talk on the radio about the blessings and challenges of blended family living. Why? Because no one else is and there's a huge population of people living in stepfamilies. Because there are predictable challenges the first decade I want to help prepare you. But my fear is that talking about the challenges makes you think there are few rewards. That's just not true. When you're climbing the mountain, you can't always see the vista. Trust me, it's there. Just keep climbing.

Ron: Have you ever thought, “Maybe I’m being too negative”?

Announcer: For FamilyLife Blended®, here’s Ron Deal.

Ron: Okay, I don’t want to sound negative. Every day I come on the radio and talk about the blessings and challenges of blended family living. Why? Because no one else is and there’s a huge population of people living in stepfamilies. As it turns out, there are some predictable challenges the first decade. I talk about them to prepare you and let you know that things get much smoother after that. But my fear is that talking about the challenges makes you think there are few rewards. That’s just not true.

Look, when you’re climbing the mountain you can’t always see the vista. Trust me, it’s there—and it’s so worth it. Just keep climbing. For FamilyLife Blended, I’m Ron Deal.
