Ron: Is your family communication filtered or unfiltered?

Announcer: For FamilyLife Blended®, here’s Ron Deal.

Ron: In this digital age we have a lot of communication filtering options. Say your mobile phone rings, but you don’t want to talk to that person, so you let it go to voicemail. You listen to the message and reply with a text. That’s filtering.

Now, this has pros and cons. For blended families, filtering can be helpful to reduce conflict in strained relationships. But what if new family members don’t stop filtering? They’ll never develop a genuine relationship. Filtering can be helpful in the beginning, but there’s no depth until you actually talk and hang out in person. Now there’s a throwback idea that needs a comeback. For FamilyLife Blended I’m Ron Deal.
