Going the Extra Mile
We were talking on live radio when Nikki called in to brag on her stepgrandparents; she was so grateful for them. She only wished they had come into her life sooner. They didn't treat her and her brother any differently than their biological grandchildren. They went the extra mile to welcome them and to care for them. And, they let the other grandkids know that everyone was a part of this family. Forty percent of families have a stepgrandparent. We could use a lot more of the "extra mile" kind.
