Ron: My mom died just two weeks shy of my parents’ 61st wedding anniversary. It wasn’t a perfect marriage, but I never doubted their love. Mom’s quality of life decreased significantly during her last few months, but my Dad made countless sacrifices to stay by her side. On one occasion, toward the end, I walked into the room and found them sitting quietly, holding hands.
