Bob Rowling

Mr. Robert B. Rowling, Bob co-founded TRT Holdings, Inc. in 1989 and serves as its Owner, Chief Executive Officer and President. Mr. Rowling is responsible for directing the business operations of TRT Holdings, Inc. Mr. Rowling served as Chairman of the Corpus Christi Area Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Rowling builded Tana Oil & Gas Corporation (subsequently merged with Texaco), Teco Pipeline Company (subsequently merged with Pacific Gas & Electric) and Omni Hotels. He serves as the Chairman of Omni Hotels, TRT Financial Holdings, LLC, Chairs the Task Force on U.T. Dallas Lands. He served as Chairman of TRT Holdings, Inc., from 1996 to 2009. He Chairs SMU's Willis M. Tate Distinguished Lecture Series. He served as Vice Chairman of the Board at University of Texas Investment Management Company. He served as Vice Chairman of the Board and Vice Chairman of Board of Regents at The University of Texas system. He serves as a Director of TRT Holdings, Inc. Mr. Rowling served as a Director of Guaranty Financial Group Inc., from May 2008 to August 2009. He serves on the boards of Young Life and the Southern Methodist University Tate Lecture Series. He served as a Director of Gaylord Entertainment Co. from May, 2009 to August 26, 2010. He served on the boards of NationsBank of Texas, the J.G. Boswell Company, M.D. Anderson Hospital, the University of Texas College of Business Administration Foundation and the St. Paul and Zale Lipshy University Hospital in Dallas. In October 2003, he was inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame, and he received the 2003 Distinguished Alumni Award from SMU's Dedman School of Law. Mr. Rowling holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from UT-Austin and a J.D. from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law in 1979.
