H.B. London

H.B. London, Jr., currently serves as the Pastor to Pastors Emeritus for Focus on the Family, a Colorado Springs-based ministry whose preeminent mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, primarily through its commitment to nurturing and defending families worldwide. H.B. was honored with this title in 2011 after serving at Focus on the Family for nearly 20 years as the vice president of the Church and Clergy Division, which included the Pastoral Ministries department, founded by H.B. himself in 1991.

A fourth-generation minister, Rev. London was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is a graduate of Pasadena College (now called Point Loma Nazarene University) and Nazarene Theological Seminary. Point Loma University has conferred upon H.B. the Doctor of Divinity degree and, in 2007, the Distinguished Service Award.

Dr. London served as a senior pastor for over 30 years in California and Oregon. He hosted a daily radio program for 20 years and had a weekly television program.

In his assignment as vice president of Church and Clergy Outreach, H.B. served as a liaison to pastors and churches — a kind of "pastor to pastors." He communicated with thousands of pastors and church leaders each week through The Pastor's Weekly Briefing and The Shepherd's Covenant Encourager (two electronic newsletters) and produced a bi-monthly Pastor to Pastor audio series of interviews, as well as a weekly blog and podcast. Since joining forces with Focus in 1991, H.B. directed the development of numerous ministries to pastors of all ethnicities and their spouses, and gave oversight to ministries affecting physicians, youth culture, seniors, the inner city, missionaries, chaplains, and basketball camps for the children of single parents in many cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

He has also authored or co-authored a long list of books. These uniquely helpful resources are consistent with the overall mission statement of H.B. London: to be a catalyst to the spiritual renewal and restoration of ministers and their families and to assist them in better management of time, finances and family.

Focus on the Family's president, Jim Daly, believes that pastors and their families must remain strong if the church and society are to successfully resist the downward moral trends which threaten the very foundation of our nation. He continues to encourage H.B.'s efforts to support clergy families worldwide.

Rev. London's ministry continues to be people-centered — "When you find a need, you fill it." Throughout his entire ministry, he has operated by the slogan, "God loves you as though you were the only one in all the world to love — and that makes you a very important person."

H.B. and Beverley, his wife of more than 50 years, have two married sons and four grandchildren.
