Day 11: Team Us
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?—Amos 3:3 (KJV)
Ever seen less talented teams outperform others simply because they worked flawlessly together?
In a high-functioning team, the sum becomes greater than the parts. Strengths are optimized, weaknesses shrink.
And that goes for the teamwork of marriage, too.
Seeing each other as teammates—not opponents or solo players—moves you toward loyalty. Reliability. Support. Rather than you against each other, it’s you against the problem.
As a team, your differences, too (in perspectives, habits, temperaments, tastes, you name it) fuel your relationship toward powerful mission and influence. A united team is a winning team.
Praying together for our marriage
He prays: Ask God to give you wisdom and strength to work together as a team to battle against cultural and personal forces that tear at your marriage.
She prays: Ask God to help you to accept and appreciate each other’s differences, and to use them to make you a better, stronger marriage team.
