Day 13: Cracking Open a Window
Awake, O north wind, and come, O south wind! Blow upon my garden, let its spices flow. Let my beloved come to his garden, and eat its choicest fruits.—Song of Solomon 4:16
Romance usually comes naturally when we’re dating. We’re writing notes, showing up with a favorite coffee, meandering on long walks, pressing “send” on flirty texts.
But romance matters to your marriage, too. It’s a little like throwing open the windows—keeping the everyday alive, fresh, exciting, thriving. Taking a deep breath.
On the other hand, everyday life has a way of keeping those windows closed. Schedules void of white space, thrumming phones, and tilting piles of laundry have their ways of keeping things stuffy; stultifying.
But it doesn’t take much to throw open a window. What’s one thing you could do this week to give your relationship a breath of fresh air?

She prays: Ask God for wisdom in keeping a healthy balance in your responsibilities and commitments, and to intentionally make time for romance.
