Day 16: I Choose Us

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you.
—Philippians 1:3

Ever find it’s hardest to be thankful when everything’s going wrong?

Rough patch or not—your marriage is a gift from God Himself. As an expression of Jesus’ love for His bride, the church, your relationship’s love succeeds most when that love is unconditional, forgiving, fulfilling, unending.

It’s how God designed your relationship.

When you truly feel and express gratitude for your marriage (on the bad days, too) a deep sense of awe and appreciation grows for each other. You acknowledge the gift God’s extended—the kindness and wisdom He’s directed toward you. You give credit for all the ways it is beautiful and necessary to you. You seek out what is praiseworthy and noble (Philippians 4:8-9). You cherish what God’s called good.

Could a steady habit of gratitude change your relationship?
