Ron: Every newly married couple knows that they need to honor some of the traditions that they grew up with and at the same time build new traditions for their new marriage and family. Stepfamilies have the same task, but it’s a little more complicated because you have a lot more people invested in the old traditions.
Here’s a tip. Decide on a new tradition, try it, and see what happens. Yes, I’m serious. If it doesn’t go well, well you’ve learned something and next time you will be more informed.
