Ron: If you’ve ever traveled outside the U.S., you know that other countries have different social customs, holidays, religious practices, and maybe even a different language. Children living between mom’s house and dad’s house may have different chores, family rules, and punishments.
You know, it’s always amazed me how kids can adapt to these different cultures every other weekend. Sure, sometimes they need a little reminder, but generally they can adjust pretty well especially when both homes do their best to respect the preferences of the other home and don’t make kids feel guilty for how things are done.
Listen, stepkids have citizenship in two countries. They belong in both. So, for your kid’s sake do your part to foster peace. For FamilyLife Blended I’m Ron Deal.
