Ron: Okay, teens, I apologize. I know we parents always talk about how bad it is to have a teenager. Hey, we love to commiserate. It’s not like you teens don’t’ ever talk about how weird we are, right?

You know, now that I think about it both teens and parents can be difficult sometimes. No wonder we clash around boundaries. We’re trying to put some slack in your rope and you’re trying to stretch it as far as it will go. And if you’ve got a stepparent holding the rope well, that just makes it even more complicated for both of you.  Definitely an EGR situation—extra grace required from both of us.
