Jess MacCallum

Jess MacCallum writes to avoid watching television. It also makes him feel like someone is listening, sort of. He has a long history with words having used them since he was 2 years old. Also he owns a relatively new MacBook Pro which allows him to pretend to write while he watches Netflix anywhere in the house.

After wasting his college experience obtaining an art degree, Jess moved into the world of commercial printing, growing a wonderful company that he is now enslaved by. Thus as an outlet for his creative side, he writes everything down, and publishes what sells. These collected works will, God willing, explain his midlife behavior to his children once he is gone.

If there is anything Jess wants more than to sell books he hasn’t discovered it yet. But up in the top contenders would be pleasing God, creating an adventure for his family and seeing people find true life.
His second book on marriage hit stores in Oct. 2010, thanks to the completely hoodwinked folks at Standard Publishing. “May God have mercy on my soul.”

Episode Transcript

Bob:  I’m guessing that we have a lot of guys listening who would say I can relate to what you’ve been talking about.  I look at my wife and she is an extremely capable, gifted woman.  And she is respected.  I don’t know how many would say I’m known as my wife’s husband but I think there are a lot of guys who would say I need to learn how to be a loving leader.  A provider and a protector for this capable gift God has given me.  That’s what the book Jess has written is all about.  It’s called I Married Wonder Woman, Now What?

We’ve got copies of it in our FamilyLife Resource Center.  You can go to our web site FamilyLifeToday.com and the information is available there.  Again, it’s FamilyLifeToday.com.  The book is called I Married Wonder Woman, Now What?  On the same page we’ve got information about other books we have available to help guys get engaged in their assignment as men and as husbands.

Go to the web site familylifetoday.com or call toll free 1-800-358-6329.  That’s 1-800 F as in “family” L as in “life” and then the word TODAY.  Someone on our team can let you know how you can get a copy of Jess’s book sent to you.

Speaking of books to help men in their assignment as husbands this month we are making

available the book The Christian Husband.  A book I had an opportunity to write a

number of years ago.  It gives a job description.  A manual for men to understand what is

fundamental assignment as a husband.

We’re making the book available to those of you who are able to help support the

ministry of FamilyLife Today with a donation of any amount.  FamilyLife Today is

listener supported and as some of you know over the last several months our ministry like many other ministries has been affected by the current economic downturn.  Now more than ever your donations for the ministry of FamilyLife Today are extremely significant.  If you’re able to make a donation this month either online or by calling 1-800-FLTODAY you can request a copy of the hardback book, The Christian Husband

We are happy to send it out to you as our way of saying thank you for your financial support of the ministry of FamilyLife Today.  If you’d like to receive the book when you make your donation online simply type the word “husband” in the key code box on the online donation form or call 1-800- FLTODAY and make your donation by phone and ask for the book, The Christian Husband.   We’re happy to send it out to you and we do so much appreciate your support of this ministry.  It means a lot to us.

Tomorrow we’re going to continue or conversation with Jess MacCullum and find out how a guy who I hear some guys say I out punted my coverage or I married up I’ve heard those expressions.  How does a guy who did that love and lead.  We’re going to talk about that more tomorrow. I hope you can be with us.

I want to thank our engineer today, Keith Lynch, and our entire broadcast production team.  On behalf of our host, Dennis Rainey, I’m Bob Lepine.  We’ll see you back next time for another edition of FamilyLife Today.

FamilyLife Today is a production of FamilyLife of Little Rock, Arkansas.  Help for today.  Hope for tomorrow.

We are so happy to provide these transcripts for you. However, there is a cost to transcribe, create, and produce them for our website. If you’ve benefited from the broadcast transcripts, would you consider donating today to help defray the costs?
