Prayers for Parents

Day 1: Plugging In

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”    —Philippians 4:6–7

When building something complex like a house, you wouldn’t choose only hand tools that depend on your muscles to do the job. You’d also choose power tools that plug into an electrical power supply. Then you could do the work effectively and efficiently.

Is there anything more complex than parenting? And is  God not our power source? With His help we can parent much more effectively than we ever could on our own. One of the greatest ways to plug into God’s power is through prayer. Through faithful and consistent prayer, we can find wisdom and guidance for parenting and achieve far greater results in the lives of our children than any words we might speak or lessons we might teach.

Commit to praying daily for your needs as a parent, and for your children.
