Prayers for Parents
Day 2: Happy Marriage, Happy Children
“Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” —1 John 3:18
There isn’t much that loving parents won’t do for their children to make them feel loved, safe, and secure—such as providing safe shelter, good food, quality education, fun activities, and so on. But did you know that the best thing you can do for your children’s emotional well-being is to love your spouse?
It’s true. Children find their sense of security in knowing that their parents not only love them, but that they love each other. A happy, loving marriage makes for happy, secure children. Likewise, an unhappy, strained marriage can cause children to feel as if their world is falling apart. So be sure to keep your marriage a priority. Spend time alone together. Have regular date nights. And keep the fires of romance burning. Do it for your marriage. Do it for your children.
